David and Shirley commissioned me to make a rocking chair and 5 dining chairs to go with their new oak table I had made them. David wanted me to replace his old beloved rocking chair that they have had for many years with this new one. He also wanted to use it as a dining chair so the sizes had to be perfect. During the design process I created an adjustable chair so that David and Shirley could taylor the seat and arm height and get the back angle comfortable for them personally. I used various hand tools to create the curves on these chairs to make them perfect. They have been upholstered with a mix of traditional and modern materials to ensure they are extremely comfortable to sit in.
